United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in society, including in COVID-19 response and recovery.

Addressing a Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, he stressed the need to effectively address the obstacles, injustices and discrimination that this population experiences.

UN Chief further emphasized that securing the rights of persons with disabilities is necessary for upholding the values and principles that underlined in UN charter.
