In India, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has asked eleven of his counterparts, including from West Bengal, Delhi and Maharashtra to pass resolutions for scrapping of contentious Citizenship Amendment Act.

In a letter, he termed Citizenship Amendment Act contrary to the spirit of secularism.

The Chief Minister wrote that apprehensions have grown among large sections of society due to this discriminatory law.
