Radio Pakistan to launch Podcast soon: DG

Director General, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Muhammad Asim Khichi has said that Radio Pakistan will become first broadcasting institution of the country as it is going to launch its Podcast very soon so that its voice can be heard across the globe.

He was presiding over a meeting held at Radio Pakistan, Bahawalpur which was attended by Station Director, Muhammad Tasleem Langah, sectional heads of all wings and staff.

He said efforts are underway to replace the old equipment of different radio stations of the country with modern recording equipment to further enhance its performance.

Muhammad Asim Khichi said by converting Radio Pakistan’s transmission from obsolete analog to latest digital technology, the country’s largest and oldest broadcasting institution is going to extend its reach through installing new high range digital transmitters across the country.

Station Director, Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur, Muhammad Tasleem Langah informed the Director General that Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur is currently broadcasting its transmission in Urdu, Saraiki and Punjabi languages.

He said during the last three months, many new programmes have been started for the promotion and preservation of century’s old cultural traditions, customs, and heritage of Saraiki Region.

Deputy Controller News, Sajjad Parvez informed Director General, Radio Pakistan, that PBC News Bureau, is broadcasting two News Bulletins one each in Urdu and Saraiki daily for its listeners besides working as reporting unit for national news and News and Current Affairs, Channel.

Earlier, on his arrival, Director General, Radio Pakistan, Muhammad Asim Khichi went around different sections of Radio Pakistan, Bahawalpur including studios block, transmitter area and also planted a sapling under Prime Minister’s Clean and Green Pakistan Programme in the lawn of Broadcasting House, Bahawalpur.
