Govt aiming for business-friendly budget: Akhtar

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan has said the government is aiming for a pro-investment and business-friendly budget for the coming year to boost the economy.

He was talking to Country Director of Asian Development Bank Xiaohong Yang, in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Haroon Akhtar said the government is looking into all possible ways to boost the GDP growth and we are willing to work with all stakeholders to prepare a budget that addresses the major concerns and issues facing the economy.

He said the government has brought down the corporate tax rates from 35 to 30 per cent and has also taken certain other measures to reverse the decline in exports.

Country Director of Asian Development Bank Xiaohong Yang on this occasion said she is happy with the way Pakistani economy has performed during the last four years.
