Pakistan firmly believes in peaceful settlement of Afghan issue: Analysts
March 22, 2018

Dr Hassan Askari Rizvi (IR expert):

The meeting between Prime Minister of Pakistan and Afghan envoy has great significance. Pakistan firmly believes in peaceful settlement of Afghan issue and supports Afghan led and Afghan owned peace process. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also reiterates Pakistan’s commitment to resolve the Afghan issue by using amicable means during the meeting with Afghan ambassador. The U.S. is pursuing its personal interests in Afghanistan and not serious to resolve the real issues. Afghan peace is not possible without help of Pakistan. Instead of finding workable framework to settle the dispute, all the regional and international players are chasing their vested interest in the country.

Dr Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst):

It is time for Afghan authorities to consider something deeply and thoroughly for restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan. Some hostile powers are engaged to sabotage Afghan peace process. Whenever any peace process initiated by rival powers in Afghanistan; such terror incident overturns all the efforts for revival of tranquility in the country. Instead of blaming others, Afghan government should comprehend its real enemies that are involved in subversive activities for personal gains. Such confrontational powers are also deliberately damaging the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Dr Manzoor Khan Afridi (IR expert):

The Pakistan Day which is celebrated on 23rd march every year has great importance and it infuses commitment and determination to the national spirit. The day also gives stimulant to the patriotism and nationhood. Sri Lankan president to be ‘guest of honour’ on Pakistan Day parade that will cause anxiety among our arch rivals. Pakistan is progressing rapidly and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is vital example in this regard. Pakistan should improve its relations with brotherly countries to achieve the set goals for progress and development of the country as well as the region.
