Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States General Joseph Dunford says progress has been made on enabling the Afghan military to take control of its own nation's security.    

During his visit to a US base in Afghanistan, General Dunford, however, said there are still steep obstacles to overcome in making the Afghan military a sustainable force.
