Appellate Tribunal Rawalpindi today rejected nomination papers of former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from NA-57 Murree, turning down decision of the Returning Officer.

Judge Ibadur Rehman Lodhi heard the appeal against acceptance of the papers by the Returning Officer.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was accused of tampering the documents attached with the nomination papers.

Earlier, the tribunal also suspended the Returning Officer on admitting his mistake.
