J&K Int’l Forum urges UN to save lives of victims of Indian state terrorism in IIOJK
November 28, 2020

Jammu and Kashmir International Forum for Justice and Human Rights has urged the UN Special Rappoteur on Prisoners to intervene and save the lives of victims of Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied territories.

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Modi-led fascist Indian government is subjecting Kashmiri detainees to worst victimization in blatant violation of all international laws and norms.

An analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said the government is deliberately prolonging the unlawful detention of these detainees.

According to report, 13,862 Kashmiris including women leaders were arrested from August 5th last year to October this year and are confined to cells and denied medical treatment.

The report added that India is flouting Geneva Convention on prisoners’ rights by carrying out arrests, unlawful detentions and extrajudicial killings as tools to suppress Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Jammu and Kashmir International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Chairman Mohammad Ahsan Untoo strongly condemned the Indian authorities for arresting pellet victims with serious health issues under different draconian laws.

He urged the UN Special Rapporteur on Prisoners to intervene in the matter to save the lives of victims of Indian state terrorism.

On the other hand, the Srinagar High Court quashed the detention of Nisar Ahmad Qazi of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district who was booked under black law Public Safety Act in 2018 and ordered to immediately release him.
