The bilateral trade agreement Pakistan and Sri Lanka is a positive development

Dr. Aliya Hashmi (Economist):The recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Sri Lanka will further strengthen the bilateral relations of the two countries. The bilateral trade agreement between two friend countries is a positive development and both the countries can take advantage of each other's expertise. The literacy rate in Sri Lanka is almost 100%. Prime Minister Imran Khan and Sri Lankan counterpart have agreed to focus and uplift the people from poverty and will also be provided maximum relief. Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the developing countries but have opportunities to increase trade volumes and extending cooperation in diverse fields. Pakistan can export defense equipments and sports stuff to Sri Lanka. Both these countries have also been playing role to promote women empowerment.
