He said National Highway & Motorway centers would also be set up at every 50 km on Motorway to facilitate the passengers. Replying to a question by a listener‚ he said eighty percent transport vehicles in Pakistan are old and not qualify for the transporting standard‚ no other country can allow such vehicles for running on the roads. He said but unfortunately here is no strict policy to stop this practice. IG Motorway said a proposal has been submitted to the government authorities in this regard to make the driving more safer.
IG Motorway said that presently import of old buses and trucks is allowed‚ we have recommended to the government to give permission for import of the new vehicles in Pakistan. Zafar Abbass Luk also told that soon Motorway Police will announce the jobs and all appointments will be done on merit.
