The vote on the resolution‚ drafted by the United States and China‚ came hours after North Korea warned for the first time it would launch pre-emptive nuclear attacks on the United States and South Korea.
The resolution has targeted North Korean diplomats‚ cash transfers and access to luxury goods.It imposes asset freezes and travel bans on three individuals and 2 firms linked to North Korea's military.
Reacting to it‚ North Korea has announced to scrap all non-aggression pacts with South Korea‚ closing its hotline with Seoul and closing the crossing point between the two countries.
