President Asif Ali Zardari says that the catastrophe caused by the unprecedented flood can be transformed into a great opportunity to rebuild a better and new Pakistan.
He said this during a visit to Turkish Emergency hospital in Dera Murad Jamali.
The President said the flood devastation was too huge for any government to handle single-handedly and called upon all segments of society to join hands in recovery from the flood devastation.
The President thanked Turkey and international community for their generous assistance. He particularly mentioned the medical establishments provided by Turkey, Oman and another one from Germany which was on way for Osta Muhammad.
Earlier during a briefing given by the provincial government, the President declared Jaffarabad as model district for the redevelopment and reconstruction efforts. The efforts include implementation of technology-based solutions to flood issues in a planned and transparent manner with structures for monitoring and accountability. |
