Asad calls for greater cooperation amongst regional countries

A two-day second General Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization began in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Addressing the inaugural session, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser emphasized the need for greater cooperation amongst the regional countries to address the issues of poverty and illiteracy.

He said we need to prepare a framework for an effective cooperation.

He said we have to benefit from the region's geographical location for the development.

The Speaker said railway track under CPEC will be beneficial for entire Central Asian region.

He said Pakistan believes in peaceful co-existence but resolution of Kashmir dispute is imperative for durable peace in the region.

He said Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris until they achieve their legitimate right of self-determination under the UN resolutions.

Asad Qaiser said Pakistan desires peace and stability in Afghanistan.
