Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his happiness over Pakistan assuming the Chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four.                     

In a statement, he termed it a significant diplomatic milestone in recognition of Pakistan's effective role on the global economic stage.

He said that assuming the G-24 Chairmanship will further strengthen Pakistan's effective role and voice in global economic affairs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the G-24 Chairmanship will provide Pakistan with a significant platform to advocate for vital reforms in the international financial architecture, fair financial support to combat climate change, and the promotion of sustainable growth opportunities for emerging economies.

The Prime Minister appreciated Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and the entire team of the Ministry of Finance for their tireless efforts, effective diplomacy, and professional capabilities.

He praised the commendable role played by the Finance Minister and his team during the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund for securing a prominent position for Pakistan in the economic leadership of developing nations.
