Israel has resumed bombing on Gaza after peace truce between Israeli and Palestinian authorities expired today.

In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli tanks are also shelling near Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps.

A number of civilians, predominantly children and women, were killed or injured in the strikes.  

Sounds of explosions were also heard in the south, which the Israeli authorities had claimed safe for civilians.
