Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says agriculture census being conducted by federal government will help increase per acre yield of crops.
Speaking at an event in Narowal today, he said planning in agriculture sector and use of modern technology will materialize greener Pakistan project.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the importance of data for policymaking in the agricultural sector.
He highlighted that more than 60 percent of Pakistan's population is directly or indirectly associated with agriculture.
He asked the field force to work diligently and collect accurate data as the agriculture census is a crucial step for Pakistan's development.
Ahsan Iqbal said that agriculture statistics will provide a better understanding of the challenges being faced by farmers.
He the Prime Minister's vision to modernize agriculture in the next five years is aimed at enhanced productivity.
