A prominent political group of Pakistani-American activists has urged the US administration to push for the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir, that grant Kashmiris the right to decide their future through a UN-sponsored plebiscite.

The New York-based American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee in a resolution also called on the US administration and Congress to form a bipartisan committee of congressional representatives to investigate the human rights violations in the disputed state and take steps to end the sufferings of its people.

It urged the United States to use its influence with Indian government to demilitarize the disputed state.
