Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said re-opening of Khunjerab trade route will increase bilateral trade between Pakistan and China.

In a statement, he welcomed the completion of arrangements for resumption of Khunjerab trade route between Pakistan and China after a lapse of three years.

Lamenting the undue delay in CPEC projects during the PTI government, the Prime Minister said speed of CPEC projects will be doubled than it was in 2018. He vowed to beef up all CPEC related projects across the country.

Shehbaz Sharif said the love and support of China's leadership and people for Pakistan is unforgettable.

He paid tribute to the officials and team members of both countries for resumption of the Khunjerab route.   

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has congratulated the leadership of China and Pakistan on the re-opening of Khanjerab trade route after a three-year gap.

In a statement, she said the opening of the Khunjrab pass is a significant development that will end the hardships of people on both sides.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government of deliberately stalling Pakistan-China trade activities and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
