The National Emergency Operations Center of the NDMA has issued an alert for possible landslides in mountainous areas from today till Saturday.

According to details, there is an increased risk of landslides due to ongoing rains and melting glaciers in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Lowari Tunnel, Chitral-Dir, Swat Valley, Karakoram Highway and Naran-Kaghan road have been declared sensitive due to landslide risk.

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, landslides and rockfalls may cause temporary to prolonged blockages of major and secondary roads, particularly along the Neelum and Leepa Valley access routes, Athmuqam-Sharda corridor and roads connecting remote mountainous communities.

Rains in upper areas may cause flooding in local rivers and cause travel difficulties.

NDMA has advised tourists to check weather and road conditions before traveling to northern areas.

People are advised to use the 'Pak NDMA Disaster Alert' app for timely information and alerts.
