President Asif Ali Zardari has extended felicitations to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, the Government and the people of Vietnam on their 81st National Day.

The President, in his letter, stated that since gaining independence in 1945, Vietnam has overcome numerous challenges and achieved remarkable progress across political, economic and social spheres.

He emphasised that Pakistan greatly values its cordial and friendly relations with Vietnam and remains committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation to realise its full potential for the mutual benefit of both nations.

The President said both countries look forward to commemorating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year. He also extended a formal invitation to President To Lam to visit Pakistan to commemorate this important milestone and to celebrate the friendship.
