United States's president-elect Joe Biden says he will not immediately cancel Phase 1 trade agreement that President Donald Trump struck with China nor take steps to remove tariffs on Chinese exports.

He stated this in an interview with Times columnist Thomas Friedman today (Wednesday).

On Iran, Biden said his administration would lift sanctions if Tehran returned to strict compliance with the nuclear deal.
