Under Modi, Hindu nationalist surge has further divided India: Analysts

Brig (Retd) Said Nazir (Defense Analyst): Whenever there is instability in the region, economy, trade and bilateral relations also suffer. Pakistan being a responsible state has always respected international laws and UN resolutions. On the other hand, India is not only violating international laws but also negating UN resolutions on Kashmir. The minorities in India and even low-caste Hindus are the main targets of Hindutva ideology being promoted in India under the supervision of fascist BJP government. The world has acknowledged role of Pakistan for peace and stability in Afghanistan whereas India, as usual, is playing the role of peace spoiler in the ongoing peace process. The Indian government has put the entire Hurriyet leadership in Jails in order to suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiris but none of its tactics is going to work as Kashmiris will never step back from demanding their fundamental right to self-determination. Indian dreams of regional hegemony will never come true as Pakistan's pro-active foreign policies are the main hurdles in this regard. Pakistan at this point of time is mainly focusing on economic development through China Pakistan Economic Corridor but India with the support of United States is making all out efforts to sabotage the mega project that is expected to bring an economic revolutions in the region. In my opinion, India is going to be isolated because of its aggressive and discriminatory policies.

Brig (Retd) Harris Nawaz (Defense Analyst): India has always projected things negatively, when it comes to relations with Pakistan. The letter written by Indian PM Narendra Modi on Pakistan Day was aimed at creating trust deficit between the Pakistani nation and the state. Pakistan has taken a wise decision of deferring to resume trade relations with India until the Indian government normalizes the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reverts its decision of abrogating article 370 and 35-A. On one hand, India is trying to convince the world that it wants to improve relations with Pakistan and on the other hand it is also involved in promoting agendas to defame Pakistan. India is also involved in interfering in internal affairs of Pakistan and creating instability in Balochistan. India tried to isolate Pakistan in the world but now it itself is getting isolated. Indian bilateral relations with its neighboring countries including Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal are also not moving in right directions. Moreover, Iran has also separated its ways from India as far as Chahbahar port project is concerned. It is also a fact that Indian politicians have always used anti-Pakistan sentiments to get votes in the elections, then how it is possible that Narendra Modi is serious in improving its relations with Pakistan.

Dr. Huma Baqai (IR Expert): If we take a look the history, Pakistan is among the countries where the carbon illusion is minimal yet it is making all out efforts to play role in climate change projects. The climate change issue is on the top of PTI government's agenda. It is surprising that Leaders from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Democratic Kenya, Nigeria and others have been invited to participate in the summit, but not from Pakistan. It is unfortunate that Pakistan, despite being among the top 10 countries affected by Climate Change is one of the lowest emitters, and it is not invited to participate in summit. It seems that Joe Biden administration is encouraging camp politics in South Asian region that will be dangerous. Pakistan being an important stakeholder in the region is playing a vital role in facilitating peace dialogue in Afghanistan as peaceful and stable Afghanistan in our best national interests as well. Pakistan is really disappointed for not being invited in the important Climate summit.
