The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a flood alert for various parts of the country during the next two to three days.

According to the NDMA's National Emergencies Operation Center, heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in the upper regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The heavy downpour may cause urban flooding, while flooding and landslides are also possible in mountainous terrain.

Flash flood warnings have been issued for vulnerable localities in Gilgit-Baltistan, including Gilgit, Diamer, Ghizer, Hunza, Astore, Skardu and Shigar.

In Azad Kashmir, flood risks persist in sensitive areas including Bagh, Poonch, Muzaffarabad, Haveli, Bhimber, Sudhnoti, Mirpur and Kotli.

Similarly, there is also a risk of flash flooding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad and Haripur.

Expected rainfall in Islamabad and Rawalpindi is also likely to cause high water flows in Nullah Lai.

The public is strongly advised to avoid unnecessary movement near glacial rivers, streams and other high-risk locations.

The NDMA has urged citizens to remain updated on weather conditions, early warnings and instructions issued by district administrations, and to utilize the "Pak NDMA Disaster Alert App" for real-time alerts.
