Provision of healthcare facilities govt’s top priority: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the provision of healthcare facilities to the people is among the government's top priorities.

He was chairing a review meeting in Islamabad today regarding the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre as well as Phase-II Extension of the Federal Government Polyclinic.

The Prime Minister instructed to accelerate the process of reforms in the health sector.

During the meeting, various designs and proposals for the construction of the proposed Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre were presented.

The meeting was also briefed on the progress of the construction of the Phase-II Extension of the Federal Government Polyclinic.

It was decided to launch the under-construction Federal Government Polyclinic Extension in Sector G-11 as the first phase of the Jinnah Medical Complex.

The decision aims to make the hospital operational at the earliest and provide citizens with quality healthcare facilities.

The Prime Minister directed that the first phase of the Jinnah Medical Complex be completed by March next year.

He further said that all possible measures should be taken to make the first phase of the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre a modern, state-of-the-art hospital.

He instructed to ensure the installation of modern and high-tech medical equipment at the hospital.

The Prime Minister also directed that third-party validation of the project should continue alongside its progress.
