The United States has reaffirmed its support for Pakistan's right to defend itself against terrorist attacks amid ongoing tensions with neighboring Afghanistan.

In a statement, the U.S. State Department said the Pakistani people have suffered greatly at the hands of terrorists and reiterated Washington's support for Pakistan's right to self-defence.
