The US Secretary of States Antony Blinken has reiterated the strong and enduring US commitment to Afghanistan.
In a Tweet, he said that he spoke with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and discussed the need to accelerate peace negotiations toward an inclusive political settlement that respects the rights of all Afghans, including women and girls.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Army has launched a major counter attack against Taliban in southern city of Lashkar Gah.
Local people say dozens of civilians have already died in the intense battle in the city. They said that hundreds of families have fled after the Afghan military asked people to leave the area.
