September 04, 2022

Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan has appealed the Pakistani American community to donate generously for the flood victims in Pakistan.

Addressing a large gathering organized by Pakistani American community in connection with Pakistan Day, he said the floods have caused unprecedented destruction in the country.

The Ambassador said many people have died in the floods. People have also lost their houses and cattle and millions of families are waiting for food, basic facilities and medicine.

He urged the community to come forward and generously help flood victims as they did in past at the time of 2005 earthquake and flood in 2010.

Earlier, the Ambassador met editorial board of Chicago Tribune and briefed them about the devastation of flood in Pakistan.

Later, the Chicago Tribune also published an editorial highlighting the magnitude of natural calamity in Pakistan and the need for providing immediate help to recover from this disaster.

It said Pakistan is one of the world's most vulnerable nations to the devastating impact of climate change, despite the fact that it emits less than one percent of the planet's greenhouse gases.
