First polls have closed in the US midterm elections with counting underway in some states.

The polls are to decide who controls Congress for the rest of Donald Trump's presidency.

Trump's Republican Party currently controls the House and the Senate.

According to the first wave of data from the midterm’s voter poll, almost two thirds of voters say President Trump's policies have worsened economic conditions in the US.
