A meeting of the Steering Committee on preparations for the SAF games chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was held in Islamabad.

In coordination with the South Asian Olympic Committee, the dates for the Games have been finalized from 4th to 11th April, 2027.

The appointment of a National Coordinator and composition of the Steering, Organizing & Provincial Committees were also approved.

A total of twenty-eight sports will be contested, with over 6,000 athletes & officials expected to participate.

Events will be held in Islamabad, Punjab & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Deputy Prime Minister directed all concerned to maintain close coordination, ensure timely completion of venues & uphold the highest standards for the successful hosting of the Games.

He further directed the Steering Committee to meet every month to monitor progress.
