Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad has said that Pakistan’s goods exports increased by 17.6 percent in September this year, reaching 2.94 billion dollars compared to 2.50 billion dollars in the same month last year.

In a post on X, he said exports also increased by 16.1 percent this year.

He said during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, goods exports rose by 10.8 percent reaching 8.42 billion dollars, with nearly 825 million dollars more exports recorded compared to the same period last year.

He said the sectoral growth was also broad-based during the first quarter of current fiscal year, with agriculture and food exports increasing by 23 percent, manufacturing, mining and energy by 17 percent, and textiles and apparel by six percent.

The Adviser to the Finance Minister said, in September alone, agriculture and food exports surged 62 percent year-on-year, while manufacturing exports grew 35 percent month-on-month.

Khurram Schehzad said the sustained rise in exports remains a positive development, with the country exporting significantly more than a year ago and export momentum accelerating in September, despite regional challenges.

He said the increase in exports is expected to contribute to higher foreign exchange earnings and strengthen Pakistan’s move towards an export-oriented economy.
