Organization of Islamic Cooperation has condemned incarceration of Kashmiri leader Asiya Andrabi and her two female associates in Tihar Jail in India on baseless charges.
OIC's Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission, in a statement, rebuked the prolonged illegal and inhuman detention of Asiya Andrabi and others under the controversial Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
The Commission reiterating its strong concerns over increasing illegal detentions of human rights and political activists, members of civil society and journalists, urged the United Nations, OIC and international human rights community to lean on New Delhi to immediately release Ms. Andrabi and all other political prisoners.
It demanded immediately halting of gross and systematic human rights violations in IIOJK and access to UN and OIC fact-finding missions and establishment of a Commission of Inquiry under UN auspices.
