China has attracted one hundred and thirty one billion dollars in foreign direct investment last year, ranking second in the world.
China’s National Development and Reform Commission’s top official Ning Jizhe told a news conference in Beijing today(Tuesday) that foreign investment has been an important part of the Chinese economy.
He noted that foreign enterprises in China contributed to about twenty percent of the tax income and more than ten percent of the jobs in the country.
China’s top economic planner attributed achievement in attracting overseas investment to its efforts in opening up and improving the investment environment.
He said China welcomes qualified overseas investors and will take a series of new measures to attract more foreign investment.

Country’s top legislature the National people’s Congress is deliberating upon proposed revision in China’s constitution and discussing the government report presented by the Premier Li Keqiang.
