Analysts say Prime Minister’s victory in vote of confidence has strengthened democracy
March 06, 2021

Syed Fakhar Imam (Minister for National Food Security and Research): Prime Minister Imran Khan volunteered himself for seeking vote of confidence from the National Assembly, which depicts his dynamic visionary leadership and bold personality. He always worked for making Pakistan a corrupt-free and exemplary nation in the world. After coming into power in 2018, the prime minister took special measures to stabilize the national economy, enhance exports and eliminate corruption from the country. He waged struggle for ensuring rule of law, supremacy of the parliament and transparency in national institutions. Today, all allied parties of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have fully supported and reposed full confidence over Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Lal Chand (Federal Parliamentary Secretary on Human Rights): Prime Minister’s victory at the National Assembly shows that evil forces cannot win war against good. Prime Minister always raised voice for the welfare of people and took special measures to put Pakistan on road to progress and development. Opposition should keep in mind that Prime Minister Imran Khan is a genuine fighter, who knows very well how to overcome challenges and crises. Opposition parties are engaged in hoodwinking the people of Pakistan through false propaganda against PTI, but all their efforts are doomed to fail. International community is now fully recognizing and lauding the efforts taken by Pakistan to deal with global challenges, including Covid-19.

Kanwal Shauzab (Leader, PTI): First of all, I would like to congratulate the entire nation, as Prime Minister Imran Khan today made a history by winning vote of confidence from the National Assembly. After today’s development, opposition is in hot waters as corrupt leaders have been rejected.  Prime Minister Imran Khan, while addressing the Lower House this afternoon expressed the confidence that he will work for introducing electoral reforms and ensuring transparency in the election system. After assuming charge of Prime Minister, Imran Khan made sincere efforts to strengthen democracy, improve performance of national institutions and provision of immediate relief to poor segments of society.

Ali Muhammad Khan (Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs): It is a big day for the ruling party. For the first time in the history of Pakistan, a sitting Prime Minister has sought fresh vote of confidence. Although he was not bound by constitution or law to get vote of confidence but he took the brave initiative on high moral ground. I am proud of the parliamentarians who have expressed confidence on the leadership of PM Imran Khan. The twenty five year long political struggle of Imran Khan is full of challenges and he knows well how to cope with these.
