Defence & Martyrs' Day ceremonies being held across Punjab

Defence and Martyrs' Day ceremonies are being held across Punjab to pay tribute to the martyrs who rendered the supreme sacrifices for the defence of the country.

At Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore, a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Rangers Punjab presented a guard of honour, while the Corps Commander Lahore laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha.

Special prayers were offered for the security, progress and prosperity of the country and for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.

In Multan, a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Army presented a salute at the Martyrs' Memorial. Commander Southern Command laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha.

Similar ceremonies were held in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala, where smartly turned-out contingents of Pakistan Army presented salutes and laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs' Memorials.

A ceremony was also held in Bahawalpur at the Martyrs' Memorial, where a Pakistan Army contingent presented a salute.

Senior military officers, civil administration officials, soldiers and other dignitaries attended the ceremonies to pay tribute to the martyrs and express solidarity with the families of the martyrs.
