Five Khawarij have been killed and two others have been injured during an intelligence-based operation by security forces in North Waziristan.

According to security sources, the security forces successfully targeted hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij in North Waziristan and its surrounding areas.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have commended security forces for conducting a successful intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan.

In his statement, the President said the timely and effective operations by the security forces are playing an important role in foiling the nefarious designs of terrorist elements.

The Prime Minister said operations against Fitna al-Khawarij will continue until the complete elimination of terrorism. He said complete eradication of terrorism and sustainable peace under Azm-e-Istehkam vision is the government’s top priority.
