Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has called for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute saying policies based on oppression and coercion are short-lived and cannot alter the facts of history.

Rejecting an article by Indian Prime Modi referring to the settlement of Kashmir dispute, Mirwaiz in a statement said peaceful negotiations provide the best option.

Meanwhile, the APHC in a statement reiterated the call for the unconditional release of all political prisoners, activists, journalists and youths, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who has completed 40 months under house arrest.
