The 47th death anniversary of eminent, writer, and poet Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum is being observed today.
He played a pivotal role in promoting Urdu, Punjabi and Persian literature through his prolific works and critical insights.
Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum also remained associated with the Iranian Cultural Institute of Lahore and Radio Pakistan. He wrote many poems for children.
During the war of 1965, the songs written by Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum gained enormous popularity.
He was decorated with several awards and honors in recognition of his outstanding contributions to literature and education.
He died on this day in 1978.
