Improving investor confidence driving economic growth: Khurram
August 07, 2026

Adviser to the Finance Minister, Khurram Schehzad, says Pakistan has transitioned from macroeconomic stabilisation to sustainable and private sector-led growth.

Addressing the Future of Finance Summit 2026 in Karachi today, he said this growth is supported by structural reforms, improving investor confidence and strengthening economic fundamentals.

Khurram Schehzad said Pakistan's economy has undergone a significant turnaround over the past two to three years, moving from severe economic stress and external vulnerability to macroeconomic stability and renewed economic expansion.

He said GDP growth has recovered to 3.7 percent, agriculture expanded by 2.89 percent, and large-scale manufacturing grew by 6.1 percent.

Referring to international validation of Pakistan's improving economic direction, the Adviser highlighted S&P Global Ratings' upgrade of Pakistan's sovereign rating to 'B' with a stable outlook.
