Saeed Ahmed Sheikh, a BS-20 officer of the Information Group, assumed charge of the office of Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

Saeed Ahmed Shaikh has vast experience of working in various departments of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in different capacities. At present, he is also serving as Director General Information Services Academy, Islamabad.

Saeed Ahmed Shaikh is a prolific writer and has authored several books on Islamic mysticism and the impact of Arabic and Persian on the local languages of the Indian sub-continent as well as on the history and culture of Pakistan. He has penned a book, comprising short stories, which adds to his literary achievements.    

Saeed Ahmed Shaikh is also a member of Khawaja Ghulam Farid Chair of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
