The Sindh government has decided to declare Tharparkar a calamity-hit district.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi today.

Addressing the meeting, Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered the immediate repair and reactivation of non-functional reverse osmosis plants and immediate restoration of all existing water supply sources.

He also called for long-term planning to ensure the water supply from Naukot to Mithi.
