The Government has accelerated work on construction of housing units under public-private partnership to provide affordable shelter to people in the country.

The Spokesperson of Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Asim Shaukat Ali in an exclusive interview with News and Current Affairs Channel (NCAC) of Radio Pakistan said over three million housing units have been received from private builders.

He said the Authority has decided to launch peri-urban projects in Punjab and other provinces where all basic facilities will be provided in three point five marla houses.

The Spokesperson said the government is providing land, cost and mark up subsidy to poor people to enable them to get their own house.

He said that housing sector projects have expedited economic activity in the country and 42 allied industries have picked up momentum.

In reply to a question, he said all deserving people should avail this opportunity and get their housing facility with the help of state incentives.
