The three-day Shandur Polo Festival will begin on Thursday in the scenic Shandur Valley of Chitral District.
According to the Culture and Tourism Authority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all necessary arrangements have been finalized for holding the festival in a befitting manner.
The Shandur Polo Festival is considered the country’s largest traditional polo festival, featuring thrilling matches between the teams of Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan, drawing thousands of spectators to the historic event.
These polo matches will be played at the highest polo ground in Shandur, located at an altitude of 12,500 feet.
Different cultural and other programs will also be part of the festival, including paragliding, food stalls, music nights, and traditional dances, to promote tourism in the area.
