President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring equal, inclusive, and quality education for all.
In their separate messages on International Literacy Day, they urged educational institutions and civil society to work together to improve literacy rates and establish a quality education system.
President Asif Ali Zardari said foundational literacy should be complemented by critical thinking, digital competencies and practical skills that enable people to participate in an increasingly knowledge-driven global economy.
In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the federal government is working with provincial governments and relevant stakeholders on a comprehensive strategy to increase the literacy rate across the country.
