Punjab Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development, Sardar Hasnain Bahadar Dreshak has said that agriculture and livestock sectors have the potential to change the fate of country. He was addressing at a poultry distribution ceremony in Lahore on Tuesday.

As many as five hundred poultry units have been distributed in five tehsils of Lahore on subsidized rates under the Prime Minister Programme aimed at promoting Domestic Poultry Scheme.

The Minister said the cost of one poultry unit, containing five hens and one rooster, is one thousand and five hundred rupees, whereas, it is being provided at the subsidized rate of one thousand and fifty rupees.

He said that this programme is major step towards the provision of animal protein to undernourished population.

He said that income resources can be increased by promoting poultry farming sector at domestic level.
