All ongoing highway projects must be completed in stipulated timeframes: Aleem

Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has said international standards will be followed in the construction of the Guru Nanak Expressway.

He was chairing a meeting of the National Highway Authority in Islamabad today.

The Minister said the project carries special religious, historical and spiritual significance for the Sikh community. He invited the Sikh community residing in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States to invest in the Guru Nanak Expressway project.

Abdul Aleem Khan also called for developing the 123-kilometre-long Mansehra-Naran highway as a model project. He said the proposed three-lane motorway project will help promote tourism, trade and connectivity with China.

The Minister further directed the NHA to complete the construction of the Multan-Muzaffargarh-Mianwali highway within the next two months.

Abdul Aleem Khan directed that all ongoing highway projects should be completed within the stipulated timeframes.
