The annual Lok Mela began at Lok Virsa in Islamabad today [Friday].

Talking to Radio Pakistan, Director Pakistan National Museum, Lok Virsa and focal person of Lok Mela 2024, Anwaar-Ul-Haq, said that the event aims to promote national unity, folk heritage, and the culture and traditions of Pakistan’s various provinces and regions.

He said that over five hundred artisans from across Pakistan are showcasing their skills at Lok Mela.

He further said that many diplomatic missions, including those from Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, and Indonesia, are also presenting their cultures and arts through the International Culture Pavilion, which is part of Lok Mela.

He commended Radio Pakistan’s role in promoting Lok Mela and Lok Virsa.

The festival will continue till 17th of this month.
