The Indian-installed administration in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has officially acknowledged issuing more than three hundred and fifty thousand domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris in the territory since August 2019.

In a written reply submitted in the IIOJK Assembly, today, the authorities admitted that 83,742 domicile certificates were issued to non-locals in just last two years.

This has intensified suspicions of a deliberate demographic re-engineering aimed at diluting the Muslim-majority character of the UN-disputed territory.

Meanwhile, in another authoritarian move, the Modi regime barred senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from convening a meeting of the Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema at his Srinagar residence to discuss concerns over the controversial Waqf Amendment Act.

Authorities sealed all routes leading to his home and placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and another founding member Agha Hassan Moosvi under house arrest.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has condemned the ban, calling it a brutal act.
