A protest was held outside the European Parliament office in Spain against the possible visit of an Afghan Taliban delegation to Brussels.

Human rights organizations, Members of the European Parliament and Afghan citizens opposed the possible visit of a Taliban delegation to Brussels.

According to the Afghan media outlet Afghanistan International, the protestors said the Taliban have turned Afghanistan into a vast prison for women and girls over the last five years. They said Taliban policies continue to pose a serious threat to the dignity, safety and future of women and girls in Afghanistan.

The protestors said inviting the Taliban to European institutions amounts to disregarding the suffering of Afghan women and insulting those affected by Taliban rule.

They said Taliban have no place in the European Parliament; instead, they should be brought before international courts to face justice.
