Air Commodore (R) Syed Gohar Bokhari (Defence Analyst): I think that surge in terrorist attacked in Pakistan is due to Indian and Afghan backing and financing terrorism. Actually, Indo-Afghan nexus of terrorism has not yet been broken completely so far; therefore, there is a surge in terrorist attacks on Pakistani security forces. However, brave and professional Pakistani security forces have minimized effect of violence of terrorists significantly. Therefore, terrorists re-equip and regroup after getting support from India and Afghan Taliban regime to target our security force. At the same time, security forces face a challenge to monitor movement of terrorists in Balochistan because Balochistan is very vast province which is sparsely populated; however, our security forces are progressing forward by improving their technology, implying drones and other tools and mechanism. So, I am hopeful that security forces will be able to pinpoint any anti-state activity by keeping up surveillance and monitoring.  I think that Indian support and sponsorship of terrorism is bigger challenge due to BJP and Hindutva mindset for Pakistan and Afghanistan is secondary challenge. Afghanistan is not a permanent enemy to Pakistan as only the ungrateful Taliban regime is hostile towards Pakistan. However, Pakistan is exploring diplomatic channels to change Afghan approach towards Pakistan. But India remains a permanent hostile enemy to Pakistan.
