Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says government is focusing on creating enabling environment for the private sector to lead the country's economic growth.

He was talking to a high-level delegation of foreign investors and business professionals that called on him in Islamabad today.

The Finance Minister briefed the delegation about the country's recent macroeconomic progress, highlighting significant achievements in overcoming longstanding challenges.

He said the economy is now operating with a surplus in both fiscal and current accounts due to improved export performance.

Muhammad Aurangzeb said foreign exchange reserves have crossed the twelve billion dollars mark, inflation has been brought down to single digits, and the policy rate is moving in the right direction.

He further elaborated on the government's comprehensive reform agenda, encompassing privatization, SOE restructuring, rightsizing of the federal government, and pension reforms.

The delegation appreciated the government's efforts in stabilizing the economy and discussed opportunities for collaboration in areas such as innovation, investment, and financial inclusion.
